As the title suggests, let’s take a coordinated effort to let Amazon know we are not happy about wrongfully having our author accounts banned due to “Illegitimate reading or borrowing activity” that we have no control over.
Many of our LitRPG authors have had their accounts entirely banned or page views for the month wiped out completely. This is unacceptable, and in many cases drastically affects the livelihood of some of our authors.
Below we will suggest some recommended actions, but feel free to catalog other ideas in the comments. As this problem affects more than just the LitRPG genre, feel free to share this post and rally together other genres.
Many of you have already contacted Amazon and complained to no avail. Let’s continue to take action this way and boost our concerns on social media with the hashtag #NotMyClickFarm Tell the world how Amazon’s handling of click farms has affected you. Maybe we can make enough stink that they will be forced to respond. (We can come up with another hashtag, but let’s be sure to all use the same one.)
Edit: Hastags that are also being used #fixKU #KuGate
Questionable Gigs on Fivver
It was suggested on a LitRPG Facebook group that a lot of these click farms or, “read farms” that are responsible for getting authors banned come from Fivver. We are no legal experts, but Fivver’s Terms of Service basically states that they have no liability or give no guarantees to the quality of work delivered when buying a gig. We have contacted them regarding the issue and will post their response here when we get it.
In the meantime, a public announcement or best practices guide should be created for using Fivver. Our new authors need to know that if they purchase a gig from a click farm that it could negatively affect many authors. It is suspected that these read farms have to read other books so that their accounts are less suspicious. When these read farms eventually get busted, all the books they read are affected as well. This means that even innocent authors are being affected by read farms!
If your looking for a promotion or book marketing gig and the details of the gig describe, “Guaranteed Views”, or is from another country you have never been to, the gig is probably a read farm. Don’t buy the gig! It may be tempting to get your work out to millions of readers for only $5, but it isn’t worth it. We know you put your love, sweat, and tears into your book and want everyone in the world to see it, but please don’t be tempted by these scams.
Here is Fivver’s TOS if you are the lawyer type.
Here is Fivver’s contact page if you would like to reach out to them.

This is coming soon. If someone creates a petition before we do let us know, and we will link to it! Shout out to author Richard Mulder for adding this as a possible solution!
If you are a reader – LEAVE A REVIEW!
Reviewing the books you read on Kindle Unlimited helps Amazon sort real readers from fake readers. Reviews are always important to authors, but now even more so! Thanks to @DJSchinhofen for this solution.
If you have any additional ideas please post them in the comments and we will update the page accordingly. Remember the goal of this Quest is to get everyone together to achieve a common goal. That goal is to get Amazon to stop banning innocent Kindle Unlimited author’s based on suspicious page views that they have no control over.
